Always a pioneer in inclusivity and promoting diversity, Aldjia Ait-Meddour created Mix Beauty, the first and only global and multi-ethnic beauty concept store in France, in 2010. This has made her an ambassador for inclusivity for 13 years. A subject that was not taken seriously or considered but which has always been at the heart of Aldjia’s concerns.
Wanting to go even further in her journey as an entrepreneur and activist for inclusivity, Aldjia Ait-Meddour launched JIA Paris in 2021.
After pushing the concept of social diversity into the distribution of cosmetics and beauty, the findings are bittersweet. Too few French brands offer hair care products that are unanimously appreciated by customers, both men and women with textured natural hair.
As Professor Sonbonfu Somé said, “it is in difference that the concept of equality takes on its full meaning.”
Every personality is unique. Every hair type is unique. And so are its needs. Therefore, every texture deserves equal attention from beauty professionals and a response tailored to its specific needs.
And while our brand is aimed at cosmopolitan beauties, it is not necessarily so: the identity, design, research, development, manufacturing and distribution are 100% made in France.
